TRE Tension and trauma release Exercises

Exeter Shake it off group – Meditation – Guided relaxation – Yoga – Therapeutic Tension Releasing Yoga Nidra

Today stress in the workplace is a major consideration for employers and anything that can be introduced to alleviate this is a  benefit to both employers and the employees. Less stressful employees will be more productive and are less likely to need time off through illness. Less stressful employees are likely to have happier home lives and this in turn leads to increased productivity.

According to figures in the Health and Safety Executive Annual Statistics Report for Great Britain, 2012/13, 22.7 million working days were lost due to work-related ill health during that period and mental ill health is the single highest cause of working days lost within this figure.

Benefits include improvements to physical and mental health, with an increased ability to be resilient and manage stress. For employers, this translates into higher productivity and reduced sickness absence
levels, among other things.

TfL, for example, has seen the number of days taken off because of stress, anxiety and depression fall by 71% since introducing employees to mindfulness (see case study). Other benefits include heightened emotional intelligence, improved decision-making and strategic-thinking abilities, a heightened ability to focus and enhanced creativity.

TRE, Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation are not only activities that bring great benefits to your life, but ones that employers will benefit from by actively encouraging.

What does TRE, Yoga, Meditation and Yoga nidra do for you.

Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness can provide numerous benefits in the workplace:

Improves the immune system and overall health, resulting in decreased absenteeism and sickness levels

Increases productivity, motivation, and work performance

Improves morale, job satisfaction, and positive thinking patterns

Reduces muscle tension and pain due to sedentary working positions

TRE, Yoga and Meditation  all actively help us to deal with stress and anxiety. They develop inner peace, calm and presence or focus, all helping us to engage positively with our working day.

If you’ve had too many business lunches? Yoga can help manage your weight by creating a more positive self-image this in turn can  encourage you to think about nutrition and what you eat. In addition, we are less likely to need that extra glass of wine to wind down, if we are already relaxed and comfortable in our own shoes. TRE, Yoga, and Meditation do just that.

Finally, yoga can ease pain. Practising postures (or asanas) and meditation reduces back and neck pain.
