These retreats offer body and soul a metaphorical hug! Accessible to all levels Neurogenic Yoga™ is a revolutionary technique in trauma healing and stress reduction.This practice combines yoga asana and pranayama with reactivation of the body’s natural, therapeutic shaking response. This shaking response in humans, much the same as the instinctual shaking in animals, is the nervous system’s way of discharging long-held tension and trauma, in order to restore the body to wholeness. Guided meditations, Candlelit Restorative Yoga and Therapeutic Yoga Nidra blend beautifully with this deeply nourishing practice.
You can dip your toe into the retreat, enjoying as much as feels right for you or you may choose to simply dive in. You are free to enjoy the peace and tranquility of this beautiful haven through walks over the stunning countryside on your own or with fellow wanderers. Or you might choose to meet yourself on a hill and be still.

In warm weather we might enjoy an evening around the fire pit, listening to sounds of the countryside, the crackle of the wood fire and the silence of a starry sky.
East Down is a historic thatched spiritual and well-being retreat centre. This beautiful breathing space is situated in the rolling hills of the beautiful Dartmoor National Park on the edge of Dartmoor. Take in the breathtaking views in every direction. Spot the diverse wildlife including the wild deer, free to roam their home landscape. This is a place of deep tranquility and soothing energy.
East Down’s deliciously comfy accommodation in the beautiful historic thatch offers new high quality facilities blended into the old charm of this wonderful building. Each room is named and decorated with the color of one of the elements – earth, air, fire, and water. The Earth bedroom has 2 x very comfortable divan beds with luxury mattresses. The Air bedroom has 3 x very comfortable divan beds with luxury mattresses and 1 x platform bed (reached by climbing a fixed ladder) The Fire bedroom has 3 x very comfortable divan beds with luxury mattresses. The Water bedroom has 2 x very comfortable divan beds with luxury mattresses. The ground floor bedroom has 1 x Single very comfortable divan bed with luxury mattress and an additional roll-away bed. There is one double bedroom with double sofa bed.
Subject to availability, you have the option to pay a single room supplement.
Enjoy freshly prepared lovingly produced food prepared from home-grown ingredients by our wonderful chef Tash. All the food will be vegetarian organic, foraged or produced in an ecologically considered way and seasonal.
The inspiration comes from traditional foods from around the world including Latin American food, Middle Eastern mezze style salads, Indian, and Asian.
Afternoon tea will be home made cake or selection of homemade biscuits. These may include chocolate and beetroot cake, carrot cake, honey biscuits or lavender biscuits. Our food receives rave reviews, “the best food I’ve had all year”.
Cost for a shared room £ 299.00 per person (50% deposit secures booking)
Single room supplement £95.00, subject to availability.
The balance is due 14 days before to the retreat.
